Flagstaff Lake and the Bigelow Mountain Range

Entered Flagstaff Lake near the town of Stratton, Maine after spending the day paddling the South Branch of the Dead River.  Flagstaff is a big man-made lake which converted the meandering Dead River into Maine's 4th largest lake.  Buried beneath the water are the remains of many farms and Flagstaff Village.  Beside is the spectacular Bigelow Mountain Range.  The Appalachian Trail runs along the top of the range and I remember looking down at the lake in 2009.  Nice to see the reverse perspective.  The best part of the next day was spent getting across the lake and down the Dead River to Spencer Stream.
