The Missiquoi eventually crosses the border into Canada. Looked up at a small bridge crossing and saw a "Welcome to the USA" sign. OK, this must be the place. Grabbed my passport and climbed up the embankment. On the USA side, there was more interest in me as a thru-kayaker than anything else. It seems that the border concerns are much more interested in who is entering than leaving. A quarter mile up the road is the Canadian border station and they wanted to know if I had any weapons or was planning to meet anyone. After slight glance at my passport, the border guards wished me well. There is no stamp in my passport and there did not seem to be any information entered into a computer or other record. Perhaps everything was video recorded?
