We moved inland and further west... hiking in the Arthur's Pass area... saw our first "Tarn's" - small ponds left by moving glaciers. Hiking up above the tree level, the weather turned bad and since there would be no views from the top, we headed back down.
Later we stopped at some unusual rock formations in an area called "Kura Tawhiti" Have a look at the photos...
