Mark's Learns "How to Surf" 22 April 2009

It was a rainly day as we drove south from the Bay of Islands. Approaching Sandy Bay beach north of Tutukaka, we saw the local Surf Tutukaka van. After talking with instructor Simon, Mark decided to learn how to surf (or... to begin to learn to surf).

With some good instruction, he started by learning how to turn the board while lying flat. Next - to stand...

The board is a bit too high in the front... need to move forward to get better balance...
